NOTE: National President Mira J. Washington messaged CWU on March 29, 2022:
Good Morning,
Please consider making a donation to support Ukraine.
Church World Services provides an opportunity for State/Local Units to participate.
It's imperative that you identify your donation in the name of Church Women United. Also, please send a quick email to the national secretary so that we can report at the end of the year the financial support for our partners. We haven't done the best job tracking this information in previous years. Help us move to improved communication and tracking.

Ukraine Crisis Response Fund
CWS established the Ukraine Crisis Response fund to address the unique needs of Ukrainians displaced by the current conflict. We are deploying a team this week to Moldova to meet with our partners on the ground and determine how to expand our response, with a likely focus on Moldova and Romania, and the unique capacity of CWS to serve migrant and refugee populations.
CWS has ongoing refugee/migration programming in Europe, specifically Bosnia and Serbia, and has technical expertise in the areas of forced migration, migrant assistance and protection, child protection, disaster and emergency response, coordination and refugee integration and community sponsorship. Since the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014, CWS has resettled 1,107 Ukrainians in the U.S.
The situation in Ukraine and neighboring countries is unstable and ever-changing. While the details around the long-term needs are still developing, CWS is committed to help.
